Last month, I made a demo to members of the Montreal MQG on half-rectangles triangle. Basically showing my technique for doing HRTs has done in the tutorial I wrote for Sew Mama Sew. We were not a lot of people at that meeting, but everyone seemed to enjoy. I took the opportunity to make a second table runner with HRTs. My aunt has been asking for one for a while and since her birthday was coming up, I decided to combine both.
I used a different layout compared to the first one. Also, I decided to use prints for both colors. I had Botanics prints by Carolyn Friedlander that were for the perfect match for my aunt’s new condo. I gave her last week and she was quite happy to receive it. Here is a picture she sent me:
I think what I love the most of this version of the table runner is the quilting. I changed the directions of the lines for the central arrows, the yellow and gray prints and I just love the effect. It shows best on the back where I used a solid color cotton (Kona in Curry).
As for my demo to the Montreal MQG, I’m hopping to see projects pop-up using HRTs. As one suggested, a quilt with different sizes of HRTs would be great!
Love it Josée! The colours are beautiful and your quilting is awesome.
Très inspirant Josée!
Beautiful! Love the quilting too!
