It’s been a while since I posted a block for the Fat Stash Bee, I did my November block early, there was no one to do a block for in December, and the January block is late. But, here it is. Erin asked us to do improv (improvisational piecing) blocks in a color of the rainbow. Se intend to do a quilt similar to this one by [griff] [griff] ‘n [chuck] .
After doing this block and the mod mosaic blocks. I can definitely say that I prefer doing quilts/blocks in which you cut all the fabric first and then you are good to go at sewing machine. I don’t know if it’s because I’m disorganized or my sewing place is to small. But, I really have a hard time going back and forth from the sewing machine to the cutting mat and planning as I go. My cutting mat end up filled with fabric with little space left for cutting! Maybe, it just takes some time to figure out a way to work out this way. Anyway, I DO love the result of improv piecing. Here is my block.
I hope Erin likes it. I think this is a great idea for a rainbow quilt.
